Ann Marie Kearns
Member of Reception Team
Please allow us to introduce you to our “Blond Bombshell” – Ann Marie Kearns.
For those of you who have visited us at Midlands Park Hotel you will be familiar with this dynamite lady. Ann Marie joined our amazing reception team in October 2022 and exploded into the hearts of everyone at Midlands Park Hotel. Her wicked sense of humour, and exceptional kindness has created her a huge following of guests and team members alike.
We are blessed with the best at our hotel and Ann Marie is one of the many inspiring people we are lucky to have. Thank you Ann Marie for everything you do.
Stephen Brophy
Member of Stores Team
We would like to introduce you to the Iron Man of the building. Stephen is part of our stores team and is also our team greeter every morning. He puts a smile on everyone’s face and a pep in our step! Stephen is a proud Cullohill man who loves his hurling.
Stephen has been part of our team since April 2017 and we would be lost without him. Stephen can come across as a shy individual but do not be fooled, he has a wicked sense of humour.
We are all immensely proud of Stephen, all the work he achieves every day and we would be lost without him. Thank you for being part of our Midlands Park Hotel community.
Gearoid Henderson
Conference Porter
Allow us to acquaint you with Gearoid Henderson, our stealthy maestro at Midlands Park Hotel. Gearoid, our remarkable conference porter, possesses the uncanny ability to navigate in and out of a room unnoticed, while leaving delightful surprises for our guests.
Despite his gentle demeanour, don’t underestimate Gearoid—he wields the strength of ten men and can accomplish seemingly impossible feats. His dry sense of humour and a smile that can illuminate any day add to his charm.
We express our deep gratitude for Gearoid’s unwavering hard work, commitment, and dedication to Midlands Park Hotel; we truly couldn’t imagine our team without him.
Izabela Krol
Member of Accommodation Team
Izabela joined our team in April 2008. With a great sense of humour, she can brighten up anyone’s day.
She always gives 100% to her work and takes pleasure in observing the satisfied faces and smiles of our guests. It’s a pleasure to work with Izabela.
A very humble, thoughtful, responsible and kind person. The Accommodation team nominated Izabela as a team member of the month for October, she truly deserves it! We are very lucky to have you Izabela.
Darren Whelan
Assistant Manager at Kelly's Restaurant
I started in hotels when I was 18 and still in college, moving to Kelly’s as a Barman. From there I progressed to supervisor and now Assistant Manager.
Since I started in the Midlands Park Hotel, I have received continuous training in different areas that have contributed to my growth within the business, there are clear values that we strive to work and live by in the hotel that gives us purpose and something to aim for all the time.
The best bit about working here, is the relationships I have built with my colleagues. The staff are amazing here and is a real sense of family and have gained friends for life from working in the hotel.
I am so proud to work somewhere with such a good reputation. For my future, I just want to continue to grow personally and improve and help Kelly’s to continue to be the best. We are really looking forward to reopening again and seeing all our customers come through our doors
Julie Dawson
Member of Reception Team
My name is Julie Dawson and I am very fortunate to work for The Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise on the reception desk, my background before starting this position was in Sales however I made a decision to move to the Hospitality Sector which was a move I had thought of doing many times, Personally myself and my family have made many memories in the hotel over the years so when the chance came up to work here I jumped at it. From the day I came for my interview and then my induction I knew I had made the right choice, it was like walking into a work family everyone is so welcoming and warm and on the days when you are rushed of your feet and you feel exhausted someone says well done or how are you? To show they care.
I know once we are back on track and away from the current climate the hotel will climb from strength to strength and I intend to do the same, how could I not working in a place that encourages you to fulfil your ambitions and never stop striving for the best
