Castlecomer Discovery Park

Castlecomer Discovery Park is situated in a stunning 80 acres of woodlands, on The Estate Yard, in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, which is 35 minutes from Midlands Park Hotel.

This recreational and educational park boasts some exciting activities for everyone of all ages.

Zipline

Zipline and Advanced High Rope Courses, Ireland’s longest over-water zipline, 300 metres long and 30 metres over the ground.

Prices

Zipline is €16.00 per person. Advanced High Ropes Course is €16.00 per person. Combining both is €27.00 per person.
Arrive 30 minutes early before allocated time to register in the Visitor Centre.

Tree-Top Adventures Prices

Tree-Top Adventure, Climbing Wall and Leap of Faith
Tree-Top: Walk 10 metres high above the Sycamore treetops, 140 metres long course.
Climbing Wall: Climb the 7 metres pole, balance on the platform and take a leap of faith.
Suitable for families, team-building, or corporate groups.
Minimum age must be 7 years+. Minimum height is 1.2 metres. Maximum weight 120kg/19 stone.

*Note: Pre-booking essential. Large groups 20+ can be facilitated outside of this.

Boating

Enjoy boating around two stunning lakes in natural woodlands
Admire the beautiful backdrop of fully restored 17th century stone bridge

Only available on weekends in June and every day in July & August.

Maximum fee €16.00 per boat for 30 minutes
€5.00 per person, minimum of 2 persons per boat

*Children Under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

*Minimum age 4 years old. For Canadian Canoe, minimum age 12 years old with an adult and without an adult minimum is 16 years of age.

*Misconduct will result in removal from the lake. No jumping into the water.

Orienteering

Three orienteering trails inside the 80 acres of woodlands, varies in distance, 1.6km short, 2.4km medium and 3km long
Participate as an individual, in pairs or as a team
Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear are recommended
Laminate maps for €5.00 which includes a €2.00 deposit on return of the map
Open 7 days per week from 9:30am to 5:00pm or until 8:00pm
